Are you the kind person who gets excited by change, or are you more likely to turn and run from it? I will admit, I am not a big fan of change. I love my comfort zone and usually tend to do anything I can to stay there. But then I found this quote…
To me, this says that by conquering what I fear most I can achieve what I truly desire.
This is both good news and bad news. It means I can actually accomplish what I really want (the good news), but it will require me to tackle what scares me (the bad news).
Why is it that all worthwhile things come at a price? I am willing to work hard and to persevere, but again, I like that comfort zone. Why, oh why, do I have to step outside it and take on that which I’d rather avoid?
And the answer is, “Because.” Because it is meaningful. Because it is worth taking risks. Because we develop a deeper appreciation for the things that require us to really stretch. (Sigh.)
I imagine it also works the other way around. In other words, it takes something really big to finally motivate us to tackle what we fear. If the result isn’t worthwhile, we wouldn’t bother to attempt the things that scare us or the things at which we might fail. But if it really is the treasure that we seek, our heart’s true desire, then we should be willing to risk it all.
What is the treasure that you seek? And what is holding you back? If your desire is strong enough, then you already have whatever it takes to tackle your fears.
Download this quote and place it where you will see it often. Remember that all worthwhile things come with a price. The bigger the dream, the bigger the cost. But the reward (physical, mental, and emotional) is also much bigger. You can do it!
You and your dreams are worth it.
