Have you ever watched a child laugh, and even if you try not to, you find yourself smiling and laughing along? Sincere happiness is one of those things that is hard to contain; it is contagious.
Lately I have been focusing on thankfulness and have been keeping a gratitude journal. What I have learned as I reflect on and record the blessings in my life is that I’ve experienced a positive boost in my mood and energy.
Similar to that laughing child, I want to share the jubilation I’ve gained.
I not only want to spread this extra joy with those around me, but I also want to share with people how they have impacted my life and why I am so grateful for them. I decided my feelings should not be limited to my journal, but should be shared with others through gratitude cards.
I recently received an email from a young man I had assisted almost five years ago. He wanted to let me know that for whatever reason he had thought of me and smiled. So he sent me a humorous note to make me smile also. And that is exactly what it did. It also made my day. Such a simple action (a two line email) made a real difference.
Mother Teresa says, “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.”
Could we be agents of change and create ripples of joy? Can sharing our thankfulness with others bring smiles to their faces? Might it also inspire them to share their gratitude, or in the very least, cause them to smile and be a little kinder to someone else?
I am determined to try. Will you join me?
To make it even easier to spread the joy, I created a set of six gratitude cards. The sentiments vary from a simple “Thank you” to “What a difference you make in my life”. They are blank inside to allow users to write their own personal message of gratitude. Download your free sample now. If you would like the entire set of 6 designs, click here or visit my Etsy Store.
